Stress Busters

Stress Busters are actions that can quickly cut through your stress. Stress is a part of life that seems to be growing bigger and bigger for a variety of reasons. America is the country with one of the lowest numbers of vacation time and the life-expectancy has dropped from 11th to 42nd when ranked against the world. Though there are many factors that attribute to these numbers, stress is one of them. So what are some ways you can break out of your stressful thoughts or situations?

Go outside. It may sound silly and startlingly simple, but the small act of going outside for the sake of enjoying the outdoors and sunlight can help you to relax. Sunlight contains vitamin D, leading some scientists to say sunlight can help make us happier or feel more positive. Feeling better can lead to clearer thoughts about what is stressing you and ways you can tackle it.

Avoid procrastination. If you hang around, thinking and thinking about a stressful event that has yet to come, you are going to, as they say, worry yourself sick. Instead of waiting around for the event to happy, take the initiative and get it over with. The sooner it gets done, the sooner it will be out of your life.

If you cannot immediately get rid of a stressor, say a big job interview is coming up and you have to wait for that date to arrive, try to empty your head of stressful thoughts by preoccupying your mind or body. Try jogging or aerobic walking. It can get you outside and keep your body healthy. You might also try going back to when you were a child; dance, read, put together a puzzle or knead some Play-dough. Simple, enjoyable tasks can help you to relax and enjoy yourself instead of dwelling of what you cannot change. Use stress busters to get rid of stress thats really unnecessary.
