Stress from Moving House
Stress from moving house is considered to be one of the greatest anxieties of all. You have to sell your home, pack your things, find help to move your items, deal with negotiations, and then actually make the move to a new place. It can be exciting once you have arrived, but until then it can feel like a hassle and leave you worrying about many things.
Organizing and preparation can go a long way in reducing stress. Even if your house is not officially sold, making a game plan for when it does happen can put you one step ahead instead of leaving you scrambling to get everything done. Make a checklist if you need to; a bit of organization can save you from that stressful feeling as well as headaches and problems sleeping that can arise from too many worries in your head.
Figure out what you want to go with you on the move and what can do with the moving company. Do research to find a moving company with a good reputation and reasonable prices that you can afford. Find out what their policies are on broken items. Once the house is sold, don’t hesitate to start packing things. Be sure to label items to show where they go (either individually or on the outside of boxes). Inform places of your change of address such as the post office so they can forward mail, magazines, cell phone and other bills, as well as friends and relatives.
Stress from moving house can be enough, during the move dealing with children and pets can be stressful as well, so you might consider having someone watch them for the day so you can focus completely on moving instead of letting your mind wander to what your child is doing. If you still feel stressed, use a stress relieving method and make a little time for it each day to help yourself calm down.
