Stress Acupressure Points

Stress acupressure points are pressure points in your body that are aggravated by stress. Dealing with a stressful situation can sometimes feel like a pounding headache. While a pounding headache may actually be a symptom of stress, you may want to consider the idea of pressure on your body, but used in a different way. If you have heard of acupressure, this is exactly what you may need. Don’t ignore the idea yet – a lot of people may roll their eyes at acupressure because why bother with that when you can get a full body massage? Others may think, “Isn’t that like acupuncture?” However, the relief of stress acupressure points is meant to help ease your body, and instead of kneading all your muscles, necessary and unnecessary, acupressure pinpoints certain spots on your body.

Also keep in mind what acupressure might actually be able to do for you. A lot of people shun the practice because they assume it is worthless – old Chinese hocus pocus that doesn’t really work, and yet there are many people out there who swear by the method. In the end, what do you have to lose? The belief is that chi, or the energy of your body, runs through you on a regular course, similar to the blood in your veins. Stress creates negative energy that blocks your normal chi flow, thus putting it off balance and making you sore, cranky, and upset. Acupressure is meant to unblock the chi flow, setting you right again.

You can attempt to do acupressure on your own body, though you will want to try and find a legitimate source of information on the specific points on your body that need to be pressed. It may be a better idea to find a professional and let them do the work for you. This way you can relax instead of concentrating on getting the pressure points right yourself.
