ESFP Under Stress
People who are ESFPs, a shortened form of Extraverted Sensing Feeling Perceiving personality type, are often very people-oriented. They have powerful interpersonal skills and love the idea of many possibilities. Excitement and drama helps them to thrive in whatever environment they may be in, and they like to be spontaneous and optimistic. They are outgoing individuals who can seem like performers at times, enjoying the center stage and being a friend to everyone.
Constant exposure to the limelight, however, can have negative consequences. With a love for possibilities, unconstructive or unhelpful possibilities that exist can have an adverse affect on them. Those mild stressors are dealt with in a manner that may not be entirely useful, such as using large-scale explanations in an attempt to clarify the problem, which may only work in a few parts, but overall not truly apply. However, it gives the them a chance to escape the problem, even if for a little while.
They enjoy their freedom like many other personality types and can feel stifled if there are too many rules or restrictions surrounding them. They may attempt to break away from these restrictions through passive resistance, which can lead to annoying many people around them. This may wind up rubbing everyone the wrong way, creating more tension and discomfort for both them and those around him or her. Should stressful events continue, they may grow immature and become unproductive with feelings of restiveness and frustration.
They needs people to interact with, should avoid structure and routine, and need spontaneous events or lifestyles that can help them to steer clear of stressful events brought on by jobs or other situations that aggravate their personality. Some ESFPs may find that their ideal job lies in photography, sales representation, social work, or acting.
