Use aromatherapy and stress can be effective reduced. Do you remember the last time you smelled chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven? How did that make you feel (besides hungry, of course)? Scientists know that certain scents can get our bodies to have certain reactions. This can be particularly handy during a time of stress. You could simply go home, light a candle of a certain scent, and let that smell wash over you as you unwind from your day. That smell can help ease your tensions or give you a little pick-me-up should you need it.
Aromatherapy does not stop at candles either. If you do not feel like lighting a flame, you can shop for essential oils, or even look for certain products that can be used such as a bubble bath solution in which you can soak, which would be ideal for easing tense muscles. Whatever your choice, there are certain scents that you should seek out depending upon what you like and what sort of results you hope to achieve. Men should take note that aromatherapy is not just for women. If you want to reduce stress, then you might want to throw society's rulebook of what's "manly" out the window for a bit.
Chamomile is the most well-known of relaxing scents, with lavender coming up closely behind. Peppermint, orange, ylang ylang, lemon, cedar wood, sandalwood, eucalyptus are a few scents that you might try looking for. If you have a particular dislike of a scent, then don't buy it because you will be focused on your dislike of the scent instead of relaxing with it. If you particularly enjoy a certain smell, orange for instance, then by all means, buy plenty of it. Scents can remind us of specific moments in our past as well, so opt for a scent that you like and that does not have any negative memories tied to it. Experiment with aromatherapy and stress could no longer be an issue for you.
